V8 Grunt

It's amazing just how much pulling power a V8 has.

Especially when it comes to politics. Of course, I'd look oh-so cynical, were I to claim Peter Lindsey's back-flip on federal funding to support the V8 Supercars running a round in Townsville had anything at all to do with the coming election.

Mr Lindsay said that earlier in the public debate he had not wanted to raise people's hopes when he might not be able to deliver.

"Since then there's been a lot of hard work going on and now I'm prepared to be a bit more confident,"

All that work that he spoke of was being undertaken by his Labor opponent, George Colbran, and friends. Okay, I'm a cynic but Lindsey's still an opportunistic hypocrite.
